What baggage allowance applies to flights operated under wet/damp lease by Norse (IndiGo) to the EU?

The baggage allowance depends on the fare type selected at the time of booking:

  • Saver – 30kgs check-in baggage + 7kgs hand baggage
  • Flexi – 30kgs check-in baggage + 7kgs hand baggage
  • Super 6E – 35kgs check-in baggage + 7kgs hand baggage
  • IndiGoStretch – 46kgs check-in baggage + 12kgs hand baggage
  • IndiGo Stretch+ – 46kgs check-in baggage + 12kgs hand baggage

What baggage allowance is provided for infants?

Infants are entitled to 10kgs of hand baggage.

Can I travel with Cabin Seat Baggage (CBBG)?

Yes. Musical instruments or valuables (e.g. cello) may be carried as CBBG, only if:

  • An extra seat is purchased
  • A window seat is booked
  • The item is secured with an extension seatbelt
  • The item does not obstruct aisles or emergency exits

Can funeral urns be carried as cabin baggage?

Funeral urns are accepted as cabin baggage provided the following restrictions are met:

  1. The urn shall be professionally sealed and packed for transport in a neutral
    packaging.
  2. The urn only contains ashes (plus possibly a name placard).
  3. The sealed and packed urn complies with normal cabin baggage size and weight
    requirements.
  4. The Customer holds all necessary documentation requested by the state of exit/entry.
  5. The sealed and packed urn is placed under the seat in front of the Customer or in the overhead bin.

Please note: Prior intimation must be given to the airline to ensure smooth processing and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Prohibited Items List – UK Regulations for Cabin and Check-in Baggage

Which items are not allowed in checked-in baggage?

Customers are not permitted to carry explosives or incendiary substances and devices in their checked-in baggage. These items are considered dangerous as they are capable of causing serious injury or posing a threat to the safety of the aircraft. The following are examples of such prohibited items:

  • Ammunition
  • Blasting caps
  • Detonators and fuses
  • Mines, grenades, and other explosive military equipment
  • Fireworks and other pyrotechnic materials
  • Smoke-generating canisters and cartridges
  • Dynamite, gunpowder, and plastic explosives

Which items are prohibited from being carried in cabin baggage?

Customers are not permitted to carry the following articles in their cabin baggage or security restricted areas on board an aircraft:

a. Guns, firearms, and other devices that discharge projectiles:

Devices that can, or appear to be able to, cause serious injury by discharging a projectile, such as:

  • All types of firearms including pistols, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns
  • Toy guns, replicas, and imitation firearms that could be mistaken for real weapons
  • Component parts of firearms, except telescopic sights
  • Compressed air and carbon dioxide guns, including pellet guns and ball bearing guns
  • Signal flare pistols and starter pistols
  • Bows, crossbows, and arrows
  • Harpoon and spear guns
  • Slingshots and catapults

b. Stunning devices:

Items designed to stun or immobilise, such as:

  • Stun guns, Tasers, and stun batons
  • Animal stunners and animal killers
  • Chemical sprays such as mace, pepper spray, capsicum spray, tear gas, acid spray, and animal repellents

c. Sharp objects:

Items with a sharp point or edge that could cause serious injury, including:

  • Axes, hatchets, and cleavers
  • Ice axes and ice picks
  • Razor blades and box cutters
  • Knives with blades longer than 6 centimetres
  • Scissors with blades longer than 6 centimetres (measured from the fulcrum)
  • Martial arts equipment with sharp edges or points
  • Swords and sabres

d. Workmen’s tools:

Tools that could be used to cause serious injury or pose a threat to aircraft safety, such as:

  • Crowbars
  • Drills and drill bits, including cordless power drills
  • Tools with a blade or shaft longer than 6 centimetres, such as screwdrivers and chisels
  • Saws, including cordless power saws
  • Blowtorches
  • Bolt guns and nail guns

e. Blunt instruments:

Items that could be used to cause injury by striking, including:

  • Baseball and softball bats
  • Clubs and batons, including billy clubs, blackjacks, and night sticks
  • Martial arts equipment

f. Explosives and incendiary substances or devices:

Items that could pose a threat to aircraft safety, such as:

  • Ammunition
  • Blasting caps
  • Detonators and fuses
  • Replica or imitation explosive devices
  • Mines, grenades, and other military explosives
  • Fireworks and pyrotechnics
  • Smoke-generating canisters and cartridges
  • Dynamite, gunpowder, and plastic explosives

 Special Categories of Travelers

Can UNMR (Unaccompanied Minor) and children travel alone on flights operated under the wet/damp lease from Norse?

For the safety and well-being of our youngest travelers, unaccompanied minor (UMNR) services are currently not available on these routes. Children aged 2 years and above but under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years old.

What are the age criteria for infants travelling on Norse-operated aircraft?

Infants must be at least 7 days old and under 2 years of age on the date of travel. A passport must be presented at check-in.

Is age proof required for infants during check-in?

Yes. While check-in staff will only request it if the infant appears over 2 years of age, birth certificate and/or passport is required as age proof.

Can infants occupy a separate seat?

For safety reasons, infants must be seated on the lap of an accompanying adult throughout the journey. Please note that one adult may travel with only one infant.

How many infants are permitted on these routes?

Norse-operated flights can accommodate up to 10 infants in IndiGoStretch and Stretch+ cabin, and 20 infants in Economy cabin.

 Special Assistance & Accessibility

Is stretcher transport available on Norse-operated aircraft?

No, stretcher transport is currently not available on Norse-operated aircraft.

Can I carry a Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) on board?

Yes, Federal Aviation Administration approved POCs are allowed as carry-on items. Non-FAA-approved POCs may only be checked in, provided batteries are detached, individually protected, and carried in hand baggage.

Are guide dogs accepted on Norse-operated flights?

Yes, guide dogs for visually impaired customers are permitted, subject to proper documentation. They are allowed in both IndiGo Stretch and Stretch+ and Economy cabins.

The guide dogs may be permitted in the cabin subject to the condition that they are properly trained, remain on floor at the Customers feet, properly harnessed and vaccinated. Customers carrying guide dogs shall be required to produce a written proof to the airlines that their guide dog has been trained from appropriate institution, vaccinated and medicated.

  1. The following rules apply for Customer with Service Animals (PETC) such as Guide Dogs:
    1. The Customers may be seated on the first row only if there is a partition wall in front of the whole seat row.
    2. The Customers, and their accompanying service animals, may not be seated:
    • in the Emergency Exit Area, or
    • On vacant crew seats
  1. The service animal shall, if possible, be placed on the floor next to the cabin wall.
  2. A moisture absorbent mat is placed under the pet/guide dog.
  3. Customer traveling with a guide dog should make his/her reservation via the IndiGo Call Centre and provide us notice that a guide dog will be traveling.
  4. Guide dogs for the blind may not occupy any seat.
  5. Guide dog should be properly trained, restrained and muzzled.
  6. The service animal is excluded from weight limitation and container requirement when travelling in the cabin.
  7. Vaccination certificate of the dog from a registered veterinarian.

Rules for service animals

The following rules apply for service animals, PETC:

  1. Seeing eye and hearing aid dogs
  2. Dogs trained to assist physically impaired persons in their daily life
  3. Service animals shall always be transported free of charge.

 At the Airport

Is lounge access available on Norse-operated flights?

Yes, lounge access is available for IndiGoStretch and Stretch+ customers.

Do Economy Class customers receive priority boarding?


Priority boarding is not included with a standard Economy Class booking. However, customers who purchase an IndiGo Fast Forward or book an IndiGoStretch or Stretch+ seat, which are eligible for priority boarding.

 In-Flight Experience

What in-flight meals and beverages are available?

Customers are served a complimentary Indian Vegetarian meal. If they wish to personalize their dining experience, they can reserve Indian Non-vegetarian or international meal options by prior booking. 

What meal will I receive by default?

If no meal preference is selected in advance, a standard complimentary Indian vegetarian meal will be served, on these flight sectors.

Are alcoholic beverages available on board?

Yes, alcoholic beverages are complimentary only for IndiGoStretch and Stretch+ customers. Economy Class customers can purchase them on board.

Are charging ports available on board?

Yes! Stay powered up with USB charging ports and charging points conveniently located at each seat for IndiGoStretch Cabin and In Economy there are 2 charging ports per row, allowing customers to charge their devices during the flight.

Are baby seats, strollers allowed in the cabin?

No, these items are not permitted in the aircraft cabin.

What seating and cabin features are available in IndiGoStretch and Stretch+ on Norse-operated aircraft?

Customers flying IndiGoStretch on Norse-operated aircraft can enjoy a range of premium comfort features, including:

Is Wi-Fi available onboard?

No, Wi-Fi is not available onboard.

What in-flight amenities are provided on a Norse-operated flight?

Pillows and blankets are provided on complimentary basis for IndiGoStretch and Stretch+ customers. Economy Class customers must pre-book these amenities, as availability is limited.

What is the refund process in the event of an involuntary downgrade?

If a customer experiences an involuntary downgrade, they will receive a Plan B notification via WhatsApp, SMS, or email, offering the following the below options:

If IndiGo places a passenger in a cabin lower than the one ticket was purchased, IndiGo shall within seven days, by the means provided the following compensation, as applicable:

  1. 30% of the price of the ticket for all flights of 1500 kilometres or less, or
  2. 50% of the price of the ticket for all intra-Community flights of more than 1500 kilometres, except flights between the European territory of the Member States and the French overseas departments, and for all other flights between 1500 and 3500 kilometres, or
  3. 75% of the price of the ticket for all flights not falling under (a) or (b).

Are there any customs regulations that customers travelling to the Netherlands should be aware of?

Yes. Customers travelling to the Netherlands are advised to familiarize themselves with the customs and baggage regulations in place to ensure a smooth and hassle-free arrival experience.

Please note, Customs authorities or any other Government officials may inspect Customer’s Baggage for any nefarious activities or illegal articles/items,
including but not limited to import/ smuggling of Gold/ precious items, Narcotics, Counterfeit currency or any other Contraband and  IndiGo will not be liable to Customers for any loss, damage and/or detention of such Baggage, item, article, etc., if suffered by them in the course of such inspections or through their failure to comply with this requirement.

Is in-flight entertainment available in Economy Class?

Yes, in-flight entertainment is available on long-haul flights in Economy Class. Depending on the aircraft, passengers can enjoy a wide selection of movies, TV shows, and music through either seat-back screen.

How early should I arrive at the airport for an Economy Class flight?

For international travel, it is advisable to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours prior to departure. This
ensures sufficient time for check-in, security clearance, immigration formalities, and boarding procedures.

Can I bring infant equipment onboard in Economy Class?

No baby/car seats or push chairs, baby bassinets are allowed in the aircraft cabin. No extra seats may be booked for Infants.

What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

In the event of a delay or cancellation, IndiGo will typically assist in rebooking you on the next available flight. Depending on the situation, you may also be eligible for compensation, meals, or accommodation support, as applicable, as per EU261 (IndiGo-Norse Airlines Notice to Passengers Under EU261 Regulation | IndiGo)

What should I do if I lose my boarding pass or identification at the airport?

If you lose your boarding pass, visit the IndiGo check-in counter or customer service desk for assistance. In case of lost identification, notify airport security or airline personnel immediately to receive further guidance.

How many bassinets are available on Norse-operated
aircraft?

There are three bassinets available on each Norse-operated aircraft.

Where are the bassinets located on the aircraft?

For Stretch customers, the bassinet is in front of seats 1G and 1J. For Economy passengers, bassinets are in front of seats 11G, 11H, 11J, as well as 27D, 27E, and 27F.

Are baby seats or strollers permitted in the cabin?

No, baby seats and strollers are not permitted within the aircraft cabin.

Can a customer request a bassinet for an infant or baby?

Yes, bassinets are available on each aircraft operated under wet/damp lease from Norse and must be requested in advance

Is there a charge for using a bassinet?

No, bassinets are provided free of charge on Norse-operated aircraft. However, they are limited and subject to availability.

What is the age or weight limit for using a bassinet?

Bassinets are designed for infants under the age of 2 and weighing up to 12kg.

Will my baby remain in the bassinet throughout the flight?

While the bassinet can be used during most of the flight, it is recommended that infants be removed and held securely during take-off, landing, and any time the seatbelt sign is on, in accordance with safety protocols.

Can I bring my own bassinet or baby bed onboard?

Passengers are not permitted to carry personal bassinets or baby beds onboard. Only the airline-provided bassinets are allowed for safety and compliance reasons.

Is the bassinet suitable for overnight flights?

Yes, the bassinet can be used on overnight flights, offering a comfortable space for your baby to rest. Please ensure the infant is secured appropriately and follow crew instructions during take-off and landing.

What if my baby exceeds the weight or size limit for a bassinet?

If your baby exceeds the allowable limit (12kg), the crew will not be able to permit the use of a bassinet due to safety regulations. In such cases, the infant must be held in the lap with a safety belt extension.

How can customers check if a bassinet is available on their flight?

Bassinet availability depends on the aircraft and route. Customers are encouraged to check with the contact centre at the time of booking to confirm if a bassinet is offered on their specific flight.

How many bassinets are available on each aircraft?

There are three bassinets available on each aircraft operated under wet/damp lease from Norse, one in the IndiGoStretch cabin and two in the Economy section.

What is the process for booking a bassinet on a flight operated under wet/damp lease from Norse?

To request a bassinet, please reach out to the contact centre within or before 48 hours of departure. Seats with bassinets are limited, so early requests are recommended for better availability.
